Group-Of-Musician Change (GOM GOM)

Friday...
Fridayy..
This Friday at Ric's We are now joined by GREENTHIEF as Jaguar are unable to play due to unforseen circumstances.

Wipedoubt - 8pm
Greenthief - 7pm

(Unforseen Circumstances shown above)

We hope we can share the stage with them soon enough though, look out for May/June for sure.

Over the last few days we went into a studio and did some recording for a possible internet-only single release that we might release sometime soon. Just to keep things mysterious. Who?What?Where?
Well, At the moment it's sound a bit like this...

But we think it will turn out pretty well though, and end up sounding more like a real WD song.

In other news, we're playing at Ric's again on Thurs April 8th before a special appearance on Mr Joel Smith's birthday at his party on Tues April13th with the wonderful SASHA B and Joel performing some songs as well. Sasha has been a good friend of ours for a while now and there will be some collaborations on the night no doubt amongst many a beer.

That's all really, see if you can notice any differences onstage this Friday night, we challenge thee!

Peace&Love

Wipedoubt + Jaguar + Ric's = Awesome

Wipedoubt will yet again be hitting the stage at Ric's Bar.
It will be our first time playing a friday night show, so we are hoping to have a sizable crowd with some similar sized drinking taking place.
Joining us on this quest will be local psychedelic jungle rockers Jaguar.
These kids are rad so come on down and lose yourself for a few hours

This Old House

We recently released our 6-track EP "This Old House" over 3 intimate evenings at the Step Inn Front Bar in January. We handmade 100 copies which have since sold out. With another run of CD's to be lovingly crafted for the next gig (12th March).

To our suprise the 4zzz ZEDblog reviewed the EP, it wasn't the greatest review but that was their take on the CD. We would love to hear yours...?

here it is...

Wipedoubt have created a background album. An album that you put on when you want music, but don’t really care about what is actually playing. The music is ok, influences like The Doves, Widespread Panic and Something For Kate among others. But I am having to force my ears to listen hard to try and catch the lyrics. I don’t mind working for my musical pleasure, but please don’t force me to try and decipher the lyrics. That just becomes painful.

Maybe they just wanted no-one to be able to understand what they were saying. It is shoe gazer music after all, and that it is supposed to be deep, dark and emotional and contain all sorts of melodic man moaning. But shouldn’t I be able to understand what is being moaned about?

It makes me want to read the lyrics so that I can try to understand the emotional content in the songs. But why should I have to read anything. It is the bands job to make me feel what they are putting forth, and take me to the emotional place their music is coming from.

Maybe the singer needs to enunciate better so that we can understand him. Maybe they need to bring the singer out more in the mix.

To many maybes.
